Chemotherapy Waste Disposal

Chemotherapy Waste must be segregated and labeled with the words “CHEMOTHERAPY WASTE”, “CHEMO”. Then, stored in the appropriate containers.

     Empty containers that previously contained chemotherapy drugs

     during the preparation or administration (bags/vials, sharps,

     Syringes, IV tubing, bottles, gloves, gowns, and related materials).

Pathology Waste Disposal

Pathology waste must be segregated for storage and placed in a secondary container for treatment as pathology waste, and that container must be labeled with the words “PATHOLOGY WASTE”, “PATH”.
